Dance Teacher Gifts

Fabulous, fun gift ideas for that beloved teacher!

Whether it’s a recital, competition, convention, birthday, or holiday, giving a beloved dance teacher the perfect gift can make any occasion more special.  Show them how much you appreciate all of their hard work and dedication with a heartfelt, thoughtful gift!

To help me with this list, I asked my Facebook page followers for their suggestions (they NEVER disappoint)!  This list begins with some of their recommendations, and ends with those adorable “dance teacher” items that will bring a smile to the instructor’s face.

Fantastic Foot Care

Dance teachers are on their feet for practically the whole day.  You can assemble a basket with some of these items to help them pamper their tired tootsies!

Cold Therapy Socks

After a long day of dancing, a dance teacher’s feet can throb with pain and inflammation.  These NatraCure cold therapy socks help to reduce swelling and discomfort with indirect contact with ice packs!  Check out the video in the Amazon listing for a better idea of how they work.

Memory Foam Flip Flops with Terry Lining

After a good soak or warm shower, these terry-lined, memory foam flip-flops will be a pleasure to slip on!  Ultra plush and cozy, these have been getting rave reviews (with over 6500 ratings).  They are machine washable (a huge plus in my book) and feature moisture-wicking material.  Available in gray, black, navy, pink and purple(ish).

Dance Socks

These are Blochsox.

Many of us have seen dance socks on the convention and competition floor, but did you ever think of getting them for your child’s dance teacher?  Their compression technology relieves pain from plantar fasciitis, tendonitis, inflammation, hypermobility, and other types of pain.  Dance socks make a wonderful gift for someone who is dancing all day long.  For the name brand that made danced socks famous, go to Apolla Performance Socks.

Foot Bath

Don’t we ALL need one of these?  If you search for “foot baths” on Amazon, you’ll get a ridiculous amount of options to choose from.  You’ll be tempted to get one for yourself (and why shouldn’t you?)!

Tea Tree Oil Foot Soak with Epsom Salts

I was struck by the amount of ratings for this item (over 13k), and the overwhelmingly positive feedback it’s been getting.  Tea tree oil and epsom salts are well known for refreshing tired tootsies, and reviewers have not been disappointed with this #1 best seller.  Make your own basket with this, some slippers, nail care accessories, and nail polish, and you’ve got yourself an affordable (yet impressive) gift!

Drink Up

When I first posed the “what are some great dance teacher gifts” question on my Facebook page, the very first response was WINE! If you know your child’s teacher does, in fact, enjoy some adult beverages now and again, that will work.  However, it never hurts to double-check (you don’t want to give the gift of spirits to someone in recovery, for example).  If it’s a go, you can buy a nice bottle and create your own basket with one (or more) of these drink accessories!

“Survival” Stemless Wine Glass

Dance teachers can use this glass to enjoy their favorite wine or cocktail to re-energize their SPIRITS (see what I did there) after a long day in the studio.  The wording is sure to make them chuckle!  The inventory on this tends to run low, so snap one up while you can. It makes the perfect addition to a homemade basket with a bottle of wine and a chic charcuterie board!

Stainless Steel Tumbler

When you see an adult woman sipping from a tumbler, NEVER ask what’s in there (it’s her little secret)!  This stainless steel tumbler has the same heartfelt message as the stemless wine glass above, and can be used for virtually any beverage (including the life-giving coffee she loves).  Available in rose gold or mint. Fun, Functional, and Fabulous

Pivo Pod

Does the studio staff create videos for social media to promote their school? Then they will LOVE this “smart” phone mount with remote control! The Pivo Pod “tracks” the subject of the video so they remain in the frame. The coupons and discounts come and go on this VERY NEW product, so check the listing to see what’s in effect (check the specs too, while you’re at it). This is definitely not a cheap token gift, so you might consider giving it as a group.

Marquee Letter Lights

These letters add a fun touch to the studio decor! Get the initials of the school, the right letters to spell out an inspirational message, or even the owner’s name to see it all in lights. They have hanging holes, plus a remote control to toggle between colors and modes. These are an AMAZON’S CHOICE selection that often features discounts (see the video in the listing for a better idea).

Heated Eye Massager

Can you give the gift of relaxation? With this heated eye massager by Renpho, you absolutely can! Dance teachers can decompress from the stress of the day, reduce eye strain, and improve sleeping with this nifty gift. They just strap it on, play some Bluetooth music, and feel the effects of the heated massage action. People are going BONKERS for this, and it often is featured as a limited time deal (otherwise, chip in with a few other dance moms to share the cost).

Digital Picture Frame with Wifi

Perfect for the lobby or waiting area, this digital picture frame can display the studio’s special moments! Rather than getting a traditional frame (which captures just one photo), this Wifi-compatible frame rotates through whatever content the user chooses. You can send photos or video clips directly to the frame from email, an app, Google Photos, Facebook, or Instagram. This Amazon’s Choice works with Alexa and has a perfect 5-star rating with over 21k reviews! Chip in with other dance families to bring the cost down.

Portable Bluetooth Speaker

With practically all music being digital, it makes sense to have a portable Bluetooth compatible speaker. Dance teachers can use them for rehearsing (we’ve used something similar at competitions) and classes (which are sometimes conducted outdoors). When I saw how many ratings it has (over 191k!), I had to do a double-take.  I often find a discount and/or coupon attached to it, so check to see what’s being offered currently. Choose from about five colors to match your studio’s motif!

Keychain and Card Set

Chances are, you’re NOT going to find a card specifically for dance teachers at your local greeting card store! This sweet set comes with a keychain featuring the same lovely sentiment on the card, making it a unique gift for any occasion.

Point Your Toes T-shirt

This shirt had me CRACKING UP!  If I had a dollar for each time I had to say “point your toes,” I could have retired 20 years ago!  Such a time saver – all the dance teacher needs to do is point to the shirt, rather than yelling out the correction (it might work for the first few times, lol).  Available in pink, green, black, dark heather, navy & men’s, women’s, and youth sizes.

Gift Cards

As a former dance coach and current school teacher, I can tell you with great authority that a gift card is ALWAYS appreciated!  Whether it be to a favorite coffee joint, department store, massage business, or online shop, a gift card has that practical versatility that is sure to please.  I also loved getting gift cards to places like Wawa, Quick Check, etc. because I could use them for a quick bite or gas. Buy one on its own or as part of a homemade gift basket.  For specialty store cards (DoorDash, Starbucks, Netflix, Ulta Beauty, and so many more), click here.  For Amazon cards (one of my favorites), click here.

Extensions and Upgrades for Out-of-Town Stays

Is your studio team traveling for an out-of-town competition or convention?  Pay for an extra night at the hotel for the dance teacher so she can extend her weekend!  If the resort has a spa or restaurant, a gift certificate or card can make the stay even more enjoyable.

Cookie Bouquets

A fun and delicious way to say “thank you” is a customizable cookie bouquet!  When it arrives, the biggest problem the teacher will have is keeping other people’s hands off of it.  Cookie Bouquet and Cookies by Design are two reputable companies that offer shipping or delivery options.

Edible Arrangements

If your dance teacher is health conscious, an Edible Arrangement is a great idea!  I’ve been the grateful recipient of these a few times, and each one was an absolute treasure.  The offerings are virtually limitless, and you’re sure to find something to please anyone.

Cleaning Service for Studio

Smaller studios might not have the resources to hire a cleaning service; those teachers are often required to clean up after classes, which could add a significant amount of time to their already-long day.  Look into hiring a local cleaning service for a one-time cleaning (or a few months’ worth, if you can get other families to chip in with you).  The more affordable option is to load up on the elbow grease and offer to do it yourself!

Whatever gifts you choose, your child’s dance teacher will appreciate the thoughtful gesture.  Just knowing that you acknowledge all they do, and are grateful for all of their hard work, will help them to get through even the toughest days!
