PS – But seriously, don’t do that; you will probably get audited.
July 9, 2020: With tax filing deadlines pushed back to July 15 this year, we had a little more time to figure out how to fudge (I mean, FIGURE OUT) the numbers to maximize our refunds. Are entry fees for competitions gambling losses if you didn’t win first place? Hmmm…food for thought. If you total up your dancer’s entry fees from 2019, you might want to file an amended return!
